While sustainable development has always been the specialty of Qatar, the country is planning to build an eco-luxury hotel by 2025. This 5-star property will be built on the middle of the ocean and will be equipped with every amenity you usually get in a 5-star hotel.
A per the latest updates, the hotel will be floating on an ocean and will generate electricity every time it rotates. There will be 152 rooms and it will cover a vast space of around 35,000 square meters. Additional features of the hotel will include facilities like a whirlpool, a beach, rooftop bars, saunas, and a spa, an infinity pool, gymnasiums, and a mini-golf club.
The Qatar authorities have assigned the responsibilities to Hayri Atak Architectural Design Studio, a Turkish architectural company. For now, just the design has been revealed, which is quite impressive and gives an idea of how spectacular this hotel is going to be. The details and other features are all planned and sooner a complete idea will be executed with the construction of this luxury floating hotel, by 2025.
As stated by the Hayri Atak Architectural Design Studio [HAADS], the hotel is designed to decrease energy consumption and limit waste production. There will be supreme sustainability in its architecture. Features like a vortex shape roof for rainwater harvesting, solar panels, and wind turbines for utilizing the natural renewable source of energy, are included in its design.
For now, this project is just planned for Qatar, but there are possibilities of developing such sustainable projects in other areas due to the mobile features. The HAADS also mentioned that this is not just an eco-friendly hotel but the most luxurious hotels in Qatar ever built.
