The 13th edition of an annual survey, the Expats Explorer Survey by HSBC was a study conducted between the month of February and March, at a time when Covid-19 was emerging as a global threat. Over 19,033 expats were questioned from over 40 countries to come up with rankings that were based on individual criteria.
While grabbing the sixth spot in global rankings, Qatar has emerged as a top country to live and work in the Middle East, defeating the likes of the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, and Saudi Arabia.
As for the top spot, performing remarkably in the survey, Switzerland retained the number one ranking and still is the best place to live in the world. John Goddard, Head of HSBC Expat, has hailed the efforts of Qatar in emerging as a powerful global player in a statement issued on the website.

According to John, the capital city of Qatar, Doha, is a hive of commercial activity that is catching the world's eye. Once home to the pearl industry, Qatar today boasts of its highest income per capita in the world, portraying the unprecedented efforts taken by the country in competing on the global level.
