2021 will be a year full of cultural events and partnerships as Qatar Museums on 15th December 2020 announced that United States of America will be officially the partner nation of Qatar for the 2021 Year of Culture. The main objective of the Qatar-USA 2021 Year of Culture is to promote intercultural diversity in the country by fostering exchange of arts and culture with the USA. An official cooperative agreement was signed between Qatar and the United States of America in Washington during the 2020 Qatar-United States Strategic Dialogue.
As a part of this agreement, one can expect various art exhibitions, cultural events and festivals that will be held in both the countries. Year of Culture program was started to celebrate the victory of Qatar to host the FIFA World Cup 2022. The logo of the 2021 Year of Culture has also been shared by the Chairperson of the Board of Trustees of Qatar Museums HE Sheikha Al Mayassa bint Hamad Al-Thani on her official Instagram page.
